Pro. WEI Heng from University of Cincinnati UC visited SAAD and Delivered a Lecture

 On Dec. 21, 2016, Pro.WEI Heng, professor in Engineering and Applied Sciences of University of Cincinnati, Director of Laboratory of Pilot Traffic Engineering and System and the former chairman of COAT visited SAAD and delivered a lecture entitled Integrating Land Use Planning, Travel Demand and Traffic Management with Environmental Sustainability.


In the lecture, Pro.WEI Heng took the case of haze in Beijing and established a model of traffic prediction, urban planning and traffic emissions and a model of integration of land use, transportation and environmental quality. And he believes that predicting traffic behaviors in different contexts according to the combination of urban social and cultural backgrounds is now becoming the an important point of integration of transport and urban planning.


After the lecture, the professor visited the BJTU-University of Cincinnati joint laboratory and gave some instructing advice. The attendants of the lecture includes ZHU Xiaonig, the Director of School of Transportation, YAO Enjian, deputy dean of SAAD, Pro. LI Juan, YAN Xuedong, Dean pf School of Language and Communication and Pro. WANG Zijia. Cincinnati University and BJTU has maintained good relations of cooperation and the two sides send teachers and students for exchange visits each year.
