Dean of SAAD Visited Thailand to Promote International Cooperation

 Invited by Chulalongkorn University of Thailand, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Chiang Mai University, Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) and Center for Urban Studies and Public Policy, XIA Haishan, Dean of School of Architecture and Design, WEN Yinghong, Associate Dean of School of Electronic and Information Engineering, LIU Zhi, Director of Peking University - Lincoln Institute of Urban Development and Land Policy Research Center and others visited  above organizations in order to promote the cooperation of scientific research in the Great Mekong River Basin Area under the strategy of  One Belt One Road, enhance the building of China-Thailand high-end think tank and help improve the students exchanges and personnel training. During this visit, the teachers agreed on a cooperation agreement with the above three schools, implementing the 13th Five-Year-Plan and plan of establishing world-level strategic cooperative partnerships with Institutions in Thailand.

 In the meeting with Pro. Supot Taechavorasinskun, Director of Depetment of Civil Engineering of School of Engineering, Associate Pro. Kasem Choocharukul and Boonchai Sangpetngam, the two sides discussed issues about scientific research cooperation related to urban planning and China Thailand region.

 

In the meeting with Pinraj Kanhanusthiti, Dean of School of Architecture, Pro. Vorapat Inkarojri, Associate Dean of School of Architecture, Associate Pro. Panit Pujinda and Doc. Somkiet Chokvijitkul, the two sides discussed issues about organizing joint teaching work entitled Asian Urban Rail Transit Hub Design and the Impact of Rail Transit on Cities as well as exchanges of  students  and agreed  to sign a school-level cooperation agreement.In AIT, XIA Haishan and his entourages had a meeting with Voratas Kachitvichynaukul,Dean of School of Traffic Engineering, Pro. Rajendra Shrestha, Dean of School of Environmental Rescources and Development, Associate Pro. Kunnawee Kanitpong and Surachet Pravinvongvuth of Department of Traffic Engineering, Associate Pro. Mokbul Ahmad of Department of Urban and Regional Planning and others. They mainly discussed about joint training of international urban planning officials in south-east Asia, double degree program of Master of Urban Transportation Planning and transport infrastructure and regional development research cooperation in the Great Mekong River Basin Area.

 

In Chiang Mai University, the delegation was warmly received by Pro. Niwes Nantachit, the President of Chiang Mai University and Pro. Avorn Opatpatanakit, the vice-President. They also expressed their hope to expand exchanges and cooperation with Chinese Universities in multi-levels and multi-forms.
