Students of SAAD Won Best Works Award in the NIHON SEKKEI Award

 In June,2016, Community In-Between the Air, the work of senior students WANG Xin, LIANG Xi, LIV Shoutuo of SAAD, won the Best Works Award in the Chinese College Students Designing Competition named NIHON SEKKEI Award / Future · Communication · Environment 2015. The competition was held for the first time by Japan Design Corporation and co-host by School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University and Auto Desk Company.

The competition was themed Futurizing Breaks. The topic was set by Japan Design and architecture experts including Mr. Kengo Kuma, the world-known architect, aiming to let young students think about what the public communication space in cities like in 30 years. Although the theme of the competition is extremely broad and challenging, the young students across the country have a positive response. Since it started on Oct.14, 2015, the organizing committee of the competition received 302 works from 92 colleges around the country including colleges from HK. The competition review meeting was held in Shanghai on May 5, 2016. The jury passed multiple rounds of voting and selected 1 first-class prize, 2 second-class prizes, 2 third-class prizes, 5 best works prizes and 20 finalists.
